Football Fans Will Be Returning To Stadiums From Next Month

Football fans have been given the green light to return to stadiums starting from next month.

It has been reported that the United Kingdom government’s further easing of coronavirus lockdown rules will see a list of ‘pilot’ events tested over the coming weeks.

Some of those include the Snooker World Championship, rugby games and racing events.

The Premier League season begins on September 12 and some games will be tested with fans, while a full rollout is planned for October.

It won’t quite be as we all knew it however – with spectators being forced to sign a code of behavior.

Games in the North West will not be included due to a spike of cases resulting in tighter restrictions for the time being.

Socially distant seating and sanitiser stations will be provided for fans, who will be trusted to not attend if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has.

One way entry and exit areas plus staggered arrival times will be used

Prime Minister Boris Johnson explained: “At every stage I have said our plan to reopen society and the economy is conditional.

“Today we are able to announce some further changes which will allow more people to return to work and the public to get back to more of the things they have missed”However, as I have always said, we will not hesitate to put on the brakes if required, or to continue to implement local measures to help to control the spread of the virus.”

Culture secretary Oliver Dowden chipped in with: “The nation’s hard work to keep the virus under control means we can now make further careful progress.

“We must all continue to Stay Alert but today’s welcome news means these organisations can finally get going safely, and we can enjoy more of the things we love as a nation.”

Other countries across the word have begun welcoming fans back into stadiums.

The French government have been allowing 5000 people into grounds since July 10.

Paris Saint-Germain beat Le Havre 9-0 in a friendly month and and also took on Scottish champions Celtic with 5000 people inside the Parc des Princes.
