Lightening has killed a family of three during a heavy hailstorm in Rwamuyora village in Nyarurambi Parish in Muko subcounty in the Rubanda district.
The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and identified the victims as Ambrose Kanunu, and his two sons, Justus Asiimwe, and Arnold Habomugisha.
Maate said that the incident happened during the heavy downpour when the deceased were in their house. He added that there was only one survivor, identified as Allen Uwimana the mother of the children and wife to the deceased.
According to Maate Uwimana survived because she was in the kitchen cooking when the lightnening struck the house.
