Examination malpractice suspects remanded.

Two of the three suspects arrested in relation to cutting a UNEB examination envelop in Butambala last week, have been remanded till next Wednesday, November 23rd, while one has been released on bail.

Chris Mutayisire, 30 yrs, a photographer and Resident of Namasuba, has been granted a cash bail of two hundred thousand shillings, (200,000=), while each of his sureties were bonded to Five Million shillings, (5M=), not cash.

Grade 1 Magistrate, Gombe Magistrate’s Court, His Worship Asiimwe Bob granted the accused bail on grounds that he is a first time offender and a freelance photographer who is not likely to interfere with the investigations.

The other two accused persons, Mulindwa Micheal, 32 yrs, a property broker, and a resident of Nsangi, Wakiso District, together with Mbayo Nelson, 45 yrs, a teacher and Resident of Namasuba Kikajo, Wakiso, were remanded to Kabasanda Government Prison till next Wednesday, November 23rd.

Court in Gombe, Butambala heard that on Tuesday November 8, 2022, at Kibibi Town Council in Butambala District, the trio wilfully, and maliciously damaged examination material of the Primary Leaving Examination Mathemarics Paper , contrary to section 28 of the UNEB Act 2021.
