The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries will receive 3 million doses of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccines from Egypt tomorrow, Thursday, to bolster efforts to curb the current outbreak affecting some parts of the country. This was confirmed today in a meeting held by the Agriculture Minister, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, with a delegation of Egyptian officials at his office in Kampala. The delegation, led by Major General Mohsen Abdel Hakam Azouz, the Director of the Veterinary Service Department in Egypt, assured the Minister that the vaccines would arrive in the country in the afternoon. MTN Uganda shareholders earn increased dividends

Kampala, Uganda. MTN Uganda is rewarding it shareholders with a record UGX 403 billion in dividend payments, 13.2% higher compared to the previous year. This represents 81.7% of the company’s net income recorded last year. This follows the Annual General Meeting held at the Kampala Serena Hotel that approved third and final dividend of UGX 6.4 per share, amounting to UGX 143.3 billion. The company has set the payment on 25 June 2024. With two interim dividends of UGX 5.6 and UGX 6.0 per share paid in September and December 2023, the final dividend payment of UGX 6.4 per share to be paid, brings the total dividend to UGX 18 per share. Babirye Milly Babalanda has advised the Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners (RCCs), their deputies and DISOs in West Nile to be keen on the security situation in the sub-region. According to the Minister, there is reported infiltration of small guns into the sub-region from Southern Sudan and Eastern DR Congo where the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorist group is still a big problem. “We should not allow criminals to cross into Uganda to destabilise our people.
