2021 Election Race: Nambooze, 8 Other DP MPs Join Bobi Wine’s NUP

The race to the 2021 elections has heated up after several Democratic Party (DP) Members of  Parliament on Thursday August 13th, 2021 decided to quit their party and joined the National Unity Platform (NUP), led by  Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

Some of the MPs that were unveiled at the NUP headquarters in Kamwokya include; Betty Nambooze (Mukono Municipality), Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West), Moses Kasibante (Rubaga North), Medard Sseggona (Busiro East), Mathias Mpuga (Masaka Municipality), among others.

Another key political contender in the 2021 election is musicians Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone, who recently joined DP to contest for the Lord Mayoral seat, although he has also moved from the party and joined NUP.

So far, at least 11 members of parliament have joined the NUP party that is under the leadership of Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, although many others are expected to cross over from their parties.
