UTODA FOUNDER IS DEAD

The former chairman of Uganda Taxi Owners and Driver’s Association (UTODA) is dead.

“Hajji Katongole has been in the ICU on life support for some days, he had complications in the heart.” said a close family member.

A few years back Hajji Katongole had a successful heart operation in Indian, a few days back he got an attack and he was rushed and admitted at TMR Hospital in Naalya, a Kampala suburb were he has been for some days, in the morning he was pronounced dead.

Hajji Katongole is remembered starting off UTODA, that controlled transport business in Kampala and other major towns in the country for 26 years, However UTODA collapsed in 2011, when Kampala Capital City Authority terminated his contract to manage taxis in Kampala.

After the collapse of UTODA, Katongole did not give because he has been a brain behind Awakula Ennume Transport services.

In addition to that, Katongole also ventured in farming business where by he owned over 10000 heads of cattle at Bbaale sub county, on River Nile banks, making him the leading milk supplier in Kayunga district.

Katongole’s burial program is yet to be revealed, but according to the family insiders, the body is expected to be taken to Kibuli Mosque for prayers.
