Rugunda is head of the national task force for COVID-19 and has been at the forefront on fund raising and distribution efforts to contain the pandemic. “Friends, I have gone into self isolation after some of my contacts tested positive for COVID19. My own test result is negative, however, I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure,” he said in a tweet, shortly before news circulated that he had gone in isolation. Panic As Coronavirus Enters Uganda, 4 Patients Quarantined

This comes after the ministry of health on Monday morning confined four suspected Coronavirus patients to quarantine after they showed signs and symptoms of the deadly virus. The four cases were apprehended at Entebbe International Airport and quickly rushed to Entebbe General Hospital where they were quarantined. Gov’t Announces Yellow Fever Epidemic In Moyo, Buliisa

By Keefa Nuwahereza The government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Health, has confirmed a yellow fever outbreak in Moyo District, in West Nile region and Buliisa District in Hoima region. This alarming revelation was made by Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng on Friday. Minister Aceng said that "In Moyo District, there are two confirmed cases, both males aged 18 and 21 years. The two cases were dealing with cutting and trading timber between Uganda and South Sudan." She added that "On January 2, 2020, the two cases travelled from South Sudan to Moyo.
