Police probes beer agent robbery case.

Police in Mukono have mounted a search for thugs who robbed Shs 30 million from a beer agent last evening.
According to the police statement, its alleged that Henry Makuba a driver of motor vehicle registration number UBL 557W tata lorry left premids LTD Depot at Mbalala with the Salesman Gerald Okidi, Manager Christopher Obwin to supply Bell beer within Mukono together with other three loaders namely Patrick Mukwata, Stephen Kigayi and Ayub Waibi.
As they were supplying beer to customers they could collect cash and later at around 9:30pm, they went to deposit the said money at a mobile money agent at Kiteega village, in Mukono district as usual.
When the manager moved out of the vehicle together with others to call for the banking agent to open leaving only Okidi inside , two men dressed in black jackets one armed with a gun attacked the Okidi and demanded for money . He attempted to resist and made an alarm which prompted the assailant to stab him with a sharp object on the rib and he’s currently admitted at Sir Albert General Clinic and Nursing Home Mukono.
The robbers then made off with shs 30 million on numberless motorcylces while firing live bullets.
A team of Police officers led by DPC Mukono SP Edrisa Kyeyune visited the scene of crime and recovered six cartridges were recovered from the scene.
According to preliminary observations the manager routinely banks money collected every Tuesday at the same place and at the same time .The vehicle had no any security for the money.
“We appeal to members of the business community who handle large sums of money to avoid routine and to at least move with armed security guards.” Said Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson
