Tension has engulfed Malaba town as a Policeman identified as PC Ojiambo Geoffrey No47976 was attacked by panga wielding men who took off with the gun. The incident happened at Amoni B village, Malaba town council at Sakajos next to the railway station.
The assailants hit PC Ojiambo on the head, which made him fall down unconsciously before they disarmed him and took off with the gun.
The officer was rushed to Tororo main hospital as the district Police Commander ASP Adam Kimuli and OC station Dickson Ambikire rushed to the scene.
Moses Mugwe the Bukedi Region Police mouthpiece said that they have already intensified investigations to bring the culprits to book and recover the stolen rifle.
