MTN Uganda Ignites Passion with the Launch of theUganda Fayaaa Campaign with a call for Uganda Cranes

MTN Uganda has officially launched a
new "Uganda Fayaaa" campaign, marking the return of football to the iconic Mandela
National Stadium, Namboole.
The launch event kicked off at MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium, where a vibrant
gathering of football and Uganda Cranes fans embarked on a spirited procession to
Namboole and then finally to the MTN Headquarters. The procession was a grand
display of unity and excitement, marking the beginning of a new era for the Uganda
Cranes and their fans.
The highlight of the event was the lighting of a massive fire torch, symbolising the
reignition of passion and pride for the Uganda Cranes. This ceremonial act set the
stage for the "Uganda Fayaaa" campaign, which aims to galvanize support for the
national team and celebrate the reopening of their home ground.
MTN Uganda is now calling on all passionate football fans to participate in the
"Uganda Fayaaa" cheerleader search that seeks to find and crown the official
cheerleaders for the Uganda Cranes. Fans are encouraged to form teams of up to
10 members and create cheerleading videos that showcase their energy, creativity,
and love for the Uganda Cranes.
How to Participate:
1. Create Your Team: Form a team of up to 10 passionate football lovers.
2. Record Your Video: Create a cheerleading video that demonstrates your
team's spirit and enthusiasm.

3. Submit Your Video: Share your video on FUFA TV, NBS Sports, or Bukedde
TV's Whatsapp or social media platforms using the hashtag
#ShowUsYoFayaa.
4. Submission Period: Entries will be accepted from 24th May to 3rd June
2024.
The top 9 cheerleading teams will be selected based on creativity, enthusiasm, and
engagement. These finalists will receive facilitation of up to Ushs. 1.5 million each to
activate their performances at the upcoming Uganda Cranes games against
Botswana on June 7th and Algeria on June 10th, 2024.
To ensure transparency, the voting process will be conducted through the MTN
Sports microsite and a USSD platform for both customers without smart phones.
Voting will be open from 7th June to 28th June 2024. The voting process will be
further amplified through the partner TV stations that include NBS Sports, FUFA TV,
and Bukedde TV, which will provide an opportunity for the 9 finalist cheerleading
teams to share their journey and rally support from fans nationwide.
Rewards for Finalists:
1. Prize money worth Ushs. 5 million for each of the 3 finalist cheerleader teams.
2. Renewable performance 1-year cheerleading contract for Uganda Cranes and
Crested Cranes for home and away games.
3. Performance allowance and facilitation based on briefs commissioned by
MTN
MTN Uganda is also offering exciting incentives for fans who participate in the voting
process. And to encourage widespread participation and engagement from fans
across the country MTN will be gifting lucky fans who vote, a chance to win airtime,
data, and the exclusive opportunity to join the Uganda Cranes in one of their
qualifying games.
FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson at the launch added, “The Uganda
Fayaa campaign coincides with the return of fans to international football at
Namboole Stadium, which is a huge boost for the Uganda Cranes. With the biggest
sponsors of Ugandan football and Uganda Cranes—MTN—at the forefront, the fans

MTN to the sport in the country as key stakeholders. The great times are back to
