More Tears For Kinubbi As Princess Anne Visit Cancelled.

The headmasters of Salama school for the Blind in Kisoga Mukono district, where 11 Pupils were killed in a fire, today became increasingly angry after being told that their guest, Princess Royal Elizabeth Anne of England, had cancelled her visit to the blind school.

When we arrived at the school, we found the students and teachers in a state of readiness decorating their school to welcome their long awaited guest.

However at 6pm the principal of the school, Francis Kinubi told us that they have received information from the organising committee at the British High commison that the guest Princess Anne of England has cancelled her visit.

Kinubbi who was devastated, said he was shocked because the school had so much much hope after the fire killed their students and burnt down the dormitory.

“this school depends on donors though its is for the government, which only pays the teacher and its over, but we have numerous challenges and we expected princes Anne to address some” Said Kinubi.

The students we spoke to told us that despite the school authorities’ attempts to comfort them, they remain uncomfortable remembering how their colleagues died.

“we even fear to enter the remaining dormitories thinking that the same ordeal might happen again” said the pupils

Residents of the village where the school is located have also expressed their disappointment over Anne’s visit cancellation, saying that perhaps, the princess would support their school.

On tuesday 11 girls, died in a fire at Salam for the blind school in Luga village, Kisoga, Mukono district, and up to now no one has been arrested, but police is still at the school.
