Police in Kakola cell in Ivukula town council, Namutumba district, have netted a 25-year-old man identified as Henry Kasawo, over the the mysterious death of his teenage girlfriend, Ruth Ahereza.
Diana Nandawula, the Busoga East police spokesperson, has confirmed Kasawo’s arrest. She says an autopsy report reveals signs of strangulation and bruises on Ahereza’s neck.
Kasawo, a resident of Kakola cell, was taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in the shocking demise of his lover. The deceased was allegedly involved in a dramatic and abusive relationship with Kasawo, with whom she was staying with. Ahereza finally decided to leave Kasawo’s home in August 2023.
An anonymous friend of Ahereza claims Kasawo relentlessly tried to win her back, but she stood her ground, citing unbearable living conditions. The breaking point came on October 5th, 2023, when Kasawo claimed to have landed her a job in Iganga district. Little did she know, this was a twisted ploy to lure her back into his ruthless hands.
