Hon Lady Justice Margret Mutonyi of the Kampala High Court on Friday, July 21, 2023, set free a one Kaftah Queen, the tormentor of controversial teenager Pretty Nicole from prison.
The Tanzanian national has been serving a three year sentence ever since being found guilty of beating up her 15 year old friend, Pretty Nicole thereby inflicting grievous bodily harm.
On January 9th, 2023, Kaftah appeared in a viral video while beating up Pretty Nicole with her friends over a man.
She has since then been serving a three year sentence in prison given to her by Kira Court Chief Magistrate Roseline Nsenge after the later pleaded guilty to the offence.
On Friday, the defence party had a successful appeal of the previous judgement in the High Court before Justice Margaret Mutonyi in the presence of Ms Carol Tabaro on behalf of the respondent and Mr Zimbe Zephania on behalf of the appellant that saw the appeal allowed.
Accordingly, the conviction of Kaftah Queen, sentence and orders of the trial court have been set aside thereby setting the appellant free forthwith unless held over other lawful charges.
