Former Kampala city council authority deputy lord Mayor, Sulaiman Kidandala must be cursing, as parliament approves bedridden Mohamed Ssegirinya for swearing this month.
The Kawempe North winner is among the shortlisted Ugandan legislators set to swear, a move that left Sulaiman Kidandala unhappy.
In the just concluded elections on 14th-January, Ssegirinya emerged the winner beating his rivals with the highest numbers of votes, the discontented Kidandala ran to court protesting Ssegirinya’s academic papers with a move to unseat him.
In the due process of unseating Ssegirinya, the Electoral Commission wrote to court confirming that Ssegirinya submitted the rightful academic paper thus qualifying to contest and was another big blow in Kidandala’s quest to oust Mr. Updates.
It’s alleged that Ssegirinya was poisoned by unknown people and is currently in the US receiving treatment.
