Two people on Thursday evening May 11th 2023 died on spot in Rukungiri town after a motor accident that involved three vehicles.
The accident that occurred at about 7:50Pm at Rukungiri taxi Park saw motorvehicle UBD 667H Fuso Fighter loosing control hence crashing UBG 354J Sienta and UFR 849V Bajaj CT Red in colour.
The deceased according to SP Musa Tibakirana the Rukungiri District Police Commander included a female Adult Pedestrian Tukamuhebwa Annet aka Kakumbi 48 year old resident of Kyatooko parish Nyaruharo cell, Western Division.
SP Tibakirana identified the second victim as the Fuso Driver Beinomugisha Ezra 40 year old resident of Rwobusisi, Nyamayenje zone, Southern Division all in Rukungiri Municipality.
It’s alleged that the Fuso fighter UBD 667H Lost control while on the main from Sena Supermarket, slopped down fast, knocked a stationary parked Sienta UBG 354J and proceeded to knock another stationary parked bike UFR 849V Bajaj before knocking dead a female adult pedestrian and finally rested on a building.
Tibakirana confided to this reporter that the scene was visited by the District Traffic Officer Rukungiri IP Tibeijuka and team who conveyed the bodies to the mortuary for postmortem examination.
The DPC who attributed the accident to mechanical fault told this reporter that both vehicles Sienta and CT Bajaj are parked at CPS Rukungiri pending iov inspection.
The case has since been registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number TAR 45/2023.
