14 year old boy found dead in lira city west division.

The North Kyoga police spokesperson, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, has released a statement regarding the tragic death of a 14 year-old boy from Anai ward. The young boy, Okello Haward, was allegedly killed by unknown individuals and found tied to the veranda of an unfinished building using a rope.
The territorial police in Lira-City West Division is actively investigating the suspected murder of Okello Haward, the 14-year-old victim. According to SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the incident is believed to have occurred on the 26th of October 2023, around 01:00 hours, in Anai Ober Cell, Anai Ward, Lira-City West Division. This investigation began following a report filed by the local LCI chairman, Ogwal Dickens of Anai Ober Cell, Anai Ward, Lira-City West Division.
It is alleged that around 07:30 hours on the same day, a team of police officers visited the crime scene at Anai Ober Cell in Lira-City West Division, where Okello’s lifeless body was discovered. Reportedly, Okello had run away from home a month ago and had joined a group of delinquent boys. They had been occupying an unfinished building owned by a woman known only as ‘Nurse.
On the night of the 26th of October 2023, a confrontation between the group of boys resulted in the tragic death of Okello Haward, although the exact reasons for this deadly altercation remain unknown.
Okello, whose mother is identified as Milly, a fishmonger, is believed to be a partial orphan. Locals in the area suggest that he often did not heed his mother’s advice.
Following the discovery of Okello’s body, the police promptly transported it to the Lira-City mortuary for a postmortem examination. The police also collected logs found at the crime scene as potential evidence. The deceased displayed wounds on his head and had bloodstains on his shirt.
As of the time of this report, the motives behind the actions of the unknown assailants have yet to be determined, according to the police.
