People Power pressure group leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has been blocked by Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers and police from holding a presidential consultative meeting in Gulu town.
This website has learnt that a scheduled consultative meeting for People Power supporters at De Covenant Lodge in Gulu town has been blocked by a combined force of UPDF and police officers.
While commenting about the blockage, Bobi Wine, who is also the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament said that; “Our challenge is we are dealing with a government that doesn’t respect the law. We are telling President Museveni and his police to respect the law and the ground should be levelled. We are taking you on in 2021 and we are winning.”
He added that “We are not going for the Gulu consultation meeting today. This is because we have to make sure our arrested colleagues are out. Our Lira consultation meeting is on because we have met all the guidelines.”
Bobi Wine also said that; “We condemn in the strongest terms possible that a year old baby almost lost life yesterday and several were arrested. Yesterday the police raided our office and good enough they didn’t take our important documents because we hide them in the sky.”
