The Court of Appeal in Kampala is today expected to deliver its judgment in a petition filed by former Rujumbura county legislator Fred Tumuheirwe Turyamuhweza challenging the election of Security minister, Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi Katugugu.
Gen Muhwezi is being represented by former deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana of Mwesigwa Rukutana & Co. Advocates.
Recently the High Court in Kabale has upheld the victory of Security Minister Jim Katugugu Muhwezi, as Rujumbura County Member of Parliament however, Hon Turyamuhweza appealed the case.
The people of Rujumbura County are waiting for the judgment today.
The Electoral Commission declared Gen Muhwezi the winner of the January 14th elections with 23,990 votes while the petitioner polled 20,556 votes.
