By Keefa Nuwahereza The Uganda Police have finally spoken  out about Emmanuel Tegu, a Makerere University Veterinary Medicine student, who died last week under mysterious circumstances. Tegu was rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital in critical condition after allegedly being clobbered while at Makerere University. Although rumours had been circulating that Tegu had been beaten by LDUs while at Makerere University, the police said that he had been beaten by a mob. Jobless MUK Graduates Storm Kampala Streets, Arrested By Police

By Keefa NuwaherezaA group of female and male graduates from Makerere University stormed Kampala streets on Monday holding placards with with the question "What' s Next." The graduates stormed Mukwano Garden City and Mulago Roundabouts, with placards, without saying anything or demonstrating. However, police arrested all of them arguing that they didn't inform the area District Police Commander (DPCs) about the peaceful Demonstration. By Keefa NuwaherezaHundreds of students of Makerere University who are set to graduate have staged protests in Wandegeya and around the University after management  failed to give them graduation gowns which they paid for.  The university’s 70th graduation ceremony is  started today Monday, January 14, but by Wednesday January 8, 2020, the contractor had not delivered the gowns, causing anxiety among the would-be recipients. However, in a statement on the institution’s Facebook and Twitter pages on Sunday, Vice Chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe said management would ensure that gowns for all graduands are ready by the day they attend the ceremony. Shock As Makerere University Student Is Electrocuted To Death At Hostel

By Keefa Nuwahereza  Untold shock and grief have engulfed Makerere University Kampala (MUK), after a final year student got electrocuted to death at her hostel. According to sources at the University, Viola  Namulinda, who was in her final year, pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy, was found dead at her hostel.  Namulinda  is said to have been electrocuted while conducting chores, which led to her immediate death. Her body was later reported by a friend who had gone to check on her, only to find her lying lifeless on the floor. The corpse was later taken to Kampala Capital City Mortuary in Mulago for postmortem as investigations into her sudden death continue.
