‘Lockdown Likely to Stay’’ Ministry Official

Health ministry officials have warned that it is likely that covid-19 restrictions will not be lifted after the 42-day lockdown. This comes as Ugandans are appealing to the government to consider lifting the lockdown arguing that they need to resume work and fend for their families. Min. Of Health Confirms First COVID-19 Death In Uganda After Medic Dies Of Deadly Virus

By Elite News Reporter The Ministry of Health has confirmed the first Coronavirus death in Uganda, after samples from the corpse of a paramedic who died in Mbale District on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19. According to sources, the deceased, was rushed to Joyce Hospice Health Centre in Mbale city after being picked up from Mabyale Sub-county. After she breathed her last, medical experts quickly rushed her to Mbale Regional Hospital where preliminary tests conducted by the Ministry of Health have since confirmed that she died of COVID-19. According to eyewitness, two officials attached to the ongoing Under The Net (MNET) program perished in the terrible road accident after the vehicle they were traveling in, a Prado TX registration number UAM 049E lost control, swerved off the road and rolled, before ramming into a boulder along the Kapchorwa–Mbale road.
