Uganda’s leading record label Swangz Avenue has teamed up with US based Black Market Media to promote talented local musicians.
To many here, Black Market Media is renowned as the management umbrella in charge of celebrated chart topping singer and producer, Daddy Andre.
But latest reliable information confirms Black Market Media CEO Cedric Singleton flew into Uganda a few days ago and had a successful sit down chat with Industrial Area based Swangz Avenue team to start on the mission.
Going by this picture we got in which Swangz Avenue boss, Mr Julius Kyazze and Cedric were shaking hands, we can tell it’s going to pave way for collaboration aimed at improving marketing models, extending financial muscle, plus exporting quality acts to Hollywood and far east spheres.
So far, the global footprint of Black Market has expanded to 15 countries with the majority in Africa representing musicians, DJs, comedians, recording producers and videographers in countries like Swaziland, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Uganda and Nigeria.
Mr Cedric Singleton ALSO doubles as a long time partner with Youtube and Vevo which are world’s largest all-premium music video providers based in New York, offering artistes a global platform with enormous scale through its distribution networks.
So far, Black Market Africa has Ugandan artistes KVAN, Daddy Andre, Ava Peace, Uga Boyz, Gentle Junior, Dj Hearts and Selecta Jeff signed to their label on top other acts from allover Africa.
