President Yoweri Museveni has hailed the Archbishop of Canterbury the Most Reverend Justin Portal Welby, for honouring his invitation to grace new Church Uganda Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu’s enthronement, slated to take place on March 1, 2020, at Namirembe Cathedral.
Archbishop Welby, who was accompanied by outgoing C.oU Archbishop Stanley Ntagali, paid the President a courtesy visit at State House Entebbe on Friday evening, where they interacted for some time.

Shortly after Archbishop’s visit, president Museveni write on his social media platforms thus;
“I welcome the Most Reverand, Lord Archbishop Justin Portal Welby, the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury and the most senior bishop in the Church of England.”
He added that “I would like to thank His Grace for responding positively to my invitation to visit Uganda and officiate at the consecration and enthronement of Bishop Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, the 9th Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.”
