One Stabbed to Death In Mukono Land Fight.

Innocent Masinga, 27, was stabbed to death in the clash between the two rivalry groups in Lukojjo village in Nama district in Mukono. The two groups were fighting for ownership of the land. At the scene, we found the group of youths who had been hired by Kasozi Sam to drive away the group that his brother Ssozi Musisi had brought to the land was still fighting and police opened live bullets to disperse the angry youths. Meanwhile Innocent's body was lying in a pool of blood amidst the crowd. Residents who witnessed the incident also said a group of youths with sticks and machetes came and attacked the guards and started beating without asking anyone. Sex Workers Now Washing & Reusing Condoms commercial sex workers have admitted that they wash and reuse condoms to satisfy their client’s sexual needs. One of the sex workers revealed to NTV Kenya that there has been a long-standing dearth of both male and female condoms in their neighborhood. The sex workers who lack access to condoms have turned to recycle them as they are washed as a form of protection against STDs like HIV. “We are pleading with the government to release condoms to Busia because our lives are at risk”, a sex worker told NTV. The Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni has directed authorities at the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to ensure that P.7 candidates who have been isolated as Ebola suspects write their final examination. The Minister made the comments in her public statement on Ebola and the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), encouraging UNEB to coordinate with the ministry of health to make the necessary arrangements. “No Ebola contact or case that is willing to sit their end of cycle exams should be denied the opportunity to sit their exams…We have guided UNEB to ensure that as much as possible, learners affected by the Ebola Virus Disease, either as case or identified contacts sit their examination from the very schools they have been studying from…,” her message reads ...

Parliament has approved a request to borrow US$ 464.13 million (about Shs1.7 trillion) from Standard Chartered Bank and other financial institutions to finance the development and infrastructure budgets for the fiscal year 2022/23. The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, said that the loan for budget support was in fulfillment of a portion of what the MPs approved for the current financial year. The ministry of Education has directed schools (both government and private) to allow pupils and students sit for their final examinations without completing school fees for those who can not afford. This was revealed by the minister of state for Primary Education, Joyce Moriku Kaducu in Parliament while responding to questions from MPs. She said that the advance in technology had made the school administrators strict on payment of dues before exams are administered. “Once a child (candidate) is registered, results are obtained online, but we have taken it up and pledge to ensure that P.7 and S.6 candidates all sit their exams [even those who have not completed fees],” Moriku said. The Ministry of Health is set to start trials of three vaccines developed to combat Ebola Sudan virus which has killed 43 people. The three vaccines; Oxford from the United Kingdom, Sabin and Merck from USA will be evaluated for their efficacy. This revelation was made by the State Minister for Health (Primary Health Care), Margaret Muhanga on Wednesday, 03 November 2022. The government Uganda has today handed over SHS 5 million per parent while officially handing over the remains of eleven girls who died in a fire last week at Salama School for the Blind in Kisoga, Mukono district. The burial was delayed for seven days because the children were burnt beyond recognition, and government had to first conduct DNA test before handing over the bodies to the parents. It was moments of sorrow as a fleet of APLUS funeral management vehicles carrying bodies of the fallen 11 blind girls entered the premises of Salama School for the blind.
