Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo has been nominated for the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in Jamaica that will take place on May 7, 2023, in Kingston Jamaica. According to the nominations list published on the internet, Eddy Kenzo has been nominated in the category of Best Afro Beats Entertainer, a category that also has Burna Boy (Nigeria), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Tems (Nigeria) and Willy Paul (Kenya). The awards will be held under the theme: “Reggae Rise” where the best of the years 2021 and 2022 will be celebrated at the 40th Anniversary of IRAWMA. Meanwhile, Shaggy, Sean Paul, PopCaan Emperor, Koffee, and Kabaka Pyramid have been nominated in the category of Reggae & World Music Bob Marley.

Father and two sons killed by lightening in Rubanda.

Lightening has killed a family of three during a heavy hailstorm in Rwamuyora village in Nyarurambi Parish in Muko subcounty in the Rubanda district. The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and identified the victims as Ambrose Kanunu, and his two sons, Justus Asiimwe, and Arnold Habomugisha. Maate said that the incident happened during the heavy downpour when the deceased were in their house. He added that there was only one survivor, identified as Allen Uwimana the mother of the children and wife to the deceased. According to Maate Uwimana survived because she was in the kitchen cooking when the lightnening struck the house.

Police have launched investigations into circumstances under which a man committed suicide after losing shs7 million to a prostitute.
