The official handover ceremony was held at the former EC head office on Tuesday morning. The joint armed forces of UPDF and Congolese FARDC have killed Elias Ssegujja, one of the most wanted and top Allied Democratic Forces(ADF) commander. Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances under which a pupil of Kisoro primary school died after being assaulted by the teacher. A man in Mitooma has been burnt to death by an angry mob for stealing a bunch of banana. The deceased is Hanningtion Turyasingura, was a resident of Ryengyerero C in Mitooma district. Police in Gomba District have confirmed that 3 students of Kasaka Senior Secondary School have been killed and 18 others were seriously injured after a truck lost control and rammed into the school’s computer laboratory. The Deputy Speaker of Uganda, Thomas Tayebwa has asked the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) member states to remove all non-tariff barriers. He said that they are being handed to the entry of goods especially from developing countries. Tayebwa made the remarks during the 146 assembly of IPU in Manama, Bahran where he mentioned bottlenecks that are obstructing the growth of some member states. “Sometimes your supermarket shelves are empty when we have fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products rotting in our countries,” he said.
