This was executed through a Memorandum of Understanding that was launched between Huawei Uganda and the Ministry of ICT on 19th May 2022 in the National Innovation Hub at Uganda Institute of Communications Technologies (UICT), Nakawa.
The MOU will see an establishment of the Huawei ICT Academy at the UICT. This MOU will provide adequate skills, training and certification courses such as 5G, A.I, Cloud, Security, Data communications and others that are required by employers to UICT students and ICT officers.

The Court of Appeal in Kampala is today expected to deliver its judgment in a petition filed by former Rujumbura county legislator Fred Tumuheirwe Turyamuhweza challenging the election of Security minister, Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi Katugugu.

A group of Kooki Chiefdom loyalists went to Lwamaggwa Sub County and protested against a football match organised by Buganda Kingdom officials on May 20, 2022.
The demonstration prompted police to suspend the football tournament on orders of Rakai Resident District commissioner Ms Sarah Kiyimba, suspecting that the games will breed conflict between loyalists from Buganda Kingdom and Kooki chiefdom.

Speaking after a meeting called by the Ministry of Lands to discuss an ongoing conflict between Kiggundu and the Buganda Land Board over land in Kigo, Kiggundu said there were officials at the Buganda Land Board using the Kabaka's name to grab the kingdoms land, and land belonging to ordinary people.
