Uganda Land commission Beatrice Byenkya Charged with Abuse of Office
The Uganda Land Commission chairperson Beatrice Nyakaisiki Byenkya has appeared before the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo where she has been charged with abuse of office and obstruction of a search.
Byenkya has been jointly charged with three police officers attached to ULC for denying entry officials from the IGG’s office to conduct a lawful search in Beatrice's office.
This follows a letter by the Inspector General of Government IGG Beti Kamya to the lands minister Judith Nabakooba, ordering the interdiction of the Chairperson of the Uganda Land Commission until investigations into her misconduct are complete.
