IGP Okoth Ochola named Senior Commissioner of Police Stephen Tanui the new Kampala Metropolitan police commander replacing Moses Kafeero, in a reshuffle. Kafeero now returns to his former post as the commander of Bwebajja Command and Senior Staff College. According to the list, Senior Superintendent of Police Andrew Kaggwa as the new Flying Squad Unit – commandant, replacing Godwin Turamye. Anne Tusiime has been moved from Logistics and Engineering where she has been serving as deputy director and appointed to the same position in Human Resource Development. Former State Minister for Water Ronald Kibuule has advised his successor Aisha Sekkindi to focus more on finding means of lowering the cost of domestic water. Kibuule said this while handing over office to the new state minister Sekkindi at the ministry offices in Luzira under the witness of the state minister of environment. Uganda Police Kills One While Arresting General Katumba’s attackers

At the beginning of this month, unknown assailants riding on a motorcycle attacked and killed his daughter Brenda wounding Gen Katumba. Deputy Inspector of Police (DIGP) Maj Gen Paul Lokech has confirmed that some of the attackers of Gen Katumba Wamala are in custody, though their leader, Sheikh Obadia is still on the run and is believed to be hiding in DRC. The Deputy IGP said that the killer, Hussein Wahab Lubwama better known as Master, was shot and killed in the process.
