The late Brenda Nantongo Wamala will be laid to rest today 3rd June 2021 at Kikandwa village ,Kasawo sub county in Mukono district. k.wamala According to Christopher Katumba Kiggundu, the eldest brother, Nantongo will be laid to rest in Kikandwa Kasawo town council in Mukono before they can proceed to bury their maternal Grandmother in Masaka. Police in Nansana municipality has arrested at least 44 people who were found attending a homosexual wedding in 780 zone, Ochen Ward in Nansana, these were arrested after the Police received a tip about the gay wedding. “Immediately a team of police officers proceeded to the scene and a group of 38 adult males and 6 females were found conducting a ceremony at around 1pm that looked to be a wedding. All the men had make up and some were dressed as female in dresses and wigs,” Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said. “At the same function gifts were recovered, these included suitcases, a TV, assorted gifts like sugar, salt, pineapples and many other gifts normally given at traditional functions,” he added. Police have officially revealed that only 200 people will be allowed to attend the Uganda Martyrs day celebrations at Namugongo Shrine. This, according to police, is intended to enforce the Standard Operating Procedures set by the Ministry of Health to control the spread of the deadly COVID-19. According to Police Spokesperson, CP Fred Enanga, the 57th Martyrs day celebrations will thus be scientific and will only be attended by the invitees. Police have also advised all pilgrims  and faith based tourists from upcountry, as well as from the immediate neighbouring countries of the DRC, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Burundi, not to trek the long distance, but to instead follow the religious celebrations on TV, Radio and other digital platforms.
