Gov’t Officially Clears Resumption Of Labour Export

The Uganda Association for External Recruitment Agencies (UAERA) has revealed that the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has officially reopened the labour externalization sector after months under closure due to COVID-19 induced lockdown and restrictions. “We wish to formally inform all our members and stakeholders that the long wait is over, We have today 8th.12.2020 received a communique from the Ministry of Labour Gender and Social Development authorising us that externalisation of labour has finally resumed. This will be in guidance with the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures,” UAERA said in a statement on its social media pages. UCU don’s son dies 14hrs after wedding

By elite reporter Roy Watuulo, son to Richard Watuulo, of the Faculty of Education and Arts, is dead. Watuulo died Sunday from Kapchorwa where he and wife, Anita, were, for honeymoon after Saturday wedding. The paid wedded Saturday at Thornycroft Capel, Uganda Christian University (UCU – Mukono). However, he died in honeymoon in Kapchrowa hours later. The cause of death remains unknown. UCU confirmed the trajedy, asking the public to pray for the family

By elite reporter The Board of Directors at Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has appointed Mercy Kainobwisho as the Registrar General. Kainobwisho’s appointment follows the departure of Bemanya Twebaze who was recently elected the Director General, Africa Intellectual Property Organisation. A statement issued yesterday by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance said Kainobwisho emerged the successful candidate after beating seven others during internal interviews on December 2. The 41-year-old lawyer previously served as the director of Intellectual Property at URSB,  head of Business Services Bureau and manager of Intellectual Property.
