Hosni Mubarak, the former autocratic president of Egypt, whose hold onto power was broken and place in history upended by a public uprising against the poverty, corruption and repressive police tactics that came to define his 30 years in office, died on Tuesday, aged 91. His death was confirmed by state TV. Mr. Mubarak spent most of his final years at the Maadi Military Hospital in southern Cairo, under guard in a room overlooking the Nile as he defiantly battled courtroom charges of corruption and conspiracy to murder.  He was finally released on March 24, 2017, having been convicted in a single, relatively minor case, and spirited across the city to his mansion in the affluent neighborhood  of Heliopolis. Henry Tumukunde has sparked off internal strife within the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) ranks after President Yoweri Museveni, as Commander In Chief, ordered the withdrawal his army bodyguards, after word leaked that the  former Security minister wants to contest for Presidency in 2021. By Keefa Nuwahereza Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, the People Power pressure group leader and Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, has petitioned the Electoral Commission (EC) over the continued blockage of his presidential consultations by police, ahead of the 2021 general elections. In his petition filed on Monday, Bobi Wine pleads with the Electoral Commission to intervene and help him resume his consultation meetings on his 2021 presidential bid, saying police have become a stumbling block. On February 18, when Bobi Wine wrote to police requesting for a meeting, they told him to first write to EC showing what he would like police to do for him to allow his consultations.
