Museveni, Kagame Fail To Agree On Opening Rwanda-Uganda Borders

By Keefa Nuwahereza Opening borders between Rwanda and Uganda has been dealt yet another draw after Presidents Yoweri Museveni and Paul Kagame failed to reach a consensus at the Third Tripartite Meeting in Luanda, Angola, held today Sunday, February 02 2020. The meeting was a follow up of the Second Tripartite meeting held in Luanda, Angola in August 2020, which was aimed at restoring peace between the two countries,  during which both Kagame and Museveni signed a Memorandum of Understanding. According to the pact signed, the two leaders agreed to, “respect the sovereignty” of Uganda and Rwanda and other neighbouring countries, although few of the resolutions were implemented, which triggered off another the third meeting.
